Liz Knox is an artist and weaver whose practice spans textiles, painting, drawing, and collage. Before establishing her own creative studio, she spent ten years working in the fashion industry with Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market, experiences that shaped her understanding of materiality and contemporary craft.
Introduced to weaving as a child in California, Knox now works with floor, table, frame, and belt looms, and maintains a loom in her home studio. Her experience also includes hand sewing and introductory natural dye work.
She is currently developing Making Room, a community-oriented textile learning space in San Francisco that invites people to engage in small, casual projects as a way to reconnect with their creative energy and overcome the barriers often associated with technical skill.
