Arella Yuill is a textile and fashion designer from Sydney, Australia, where she recently completed a Bachelor of Fashion Design at the Fashion Design Studio, Ultimo TAFE. Inspired by the Australian coastline and bushland where she grew up, her practice explores the relationship between colour, material, and landscape through thoughtful, experimental textile processes.

Her work combines natural dyeing, hand printing, fabric manipulation, and garment construction, with a particular interest in sustainability and upcycling. During her studies, she completed an internship with renowned Australian fashion designer Akira Isogawa, contributing to costume upcycling and the restoration of archival garments. Her graduate collection, The Pursuit of Quiet, focused on expressive colour, hand-painted textiles, and innovative approaches to reusing materials.

At Texere, Arella hopes to deepen her knowledge of traditional backstrap weaving and the natural dye traditions of Oaxaca, exploring how these ancestral practices can be thoughtfully combined with her own experimental approach to textile design. She is also excited to share her experience with clothing repair and garment upcycling through a community workshop, encouraging creative and sustainable ways of extending the life of textiles.
